Tawas Light

Aboard the Shirley Ann

Entering the channel

The date, 1857, is etched at the top of the window.  The lighthouse was commissioned by Lincoln just 5 days before his assassination.

The compound - light and lighthouse on the left, dinner pavilion on the right

Dad enjoying an after dinner rest.

Little Charity from Big Charity.  It's so shallow between the islands that  you can wade over and never get wet above the waist!

From inside the tower

Heading back - the light is visible in the middle

Sunset

The shoreline of Tawas Bay.  Note the Veteran's Flag just to the right before the cloud.
