Dad and I went traveling to Minnesota to meet my betrothed, Wally.  His real name is Blazingstar Snow Bunting so now I'm Mrs. Wally B. Bunting.

I am quite a bewitching girl, he was bound to fall head over heels for me!

"Wow, she's a cutie!", thinks Wally.

Today was the big day for Gusty & Wally!  Officially Gusty became Mrs. Wally B. Snow Bunting (well, sort of….).  Blood tests showed that Gusty ovulated yesterday, so the timing should have been perfect.  Technically speaking we can expect puppies about 63 days from the day of ovulation, so the countdown is on.  Another breeding will be done in two days for some added insurance.

Brian drove to Minnesota for the big event, and was graciously hosted by our friends Ann Decker and Dave Bunde.  The Black Walnut Kennel was the site where the Bo X Savanna litter and Doc X Konza litter were conceived.  Since those litters produced outstanding puppies- including multiple breed Champions, Master Hunters, Hall of Fame dogs, and “Best in Family” Flatcoats- we can only believe great pups will come from this litter too!

Sincere thanks!
to Ann and Dave for all their hospitality and assistance during Brian’s visit. We’re also grateful to Jon Reissner for making time in his busy schedule to shuttle Wally back and forth for the romantic rendezvous

Now it’s all up to Gusty……

There was another successful breeding today between Gusty and Wally.  We are hoping things will progress as expected and a fine litter of pups will arrive in about 9 weeks.  Kate has scheduled an ultrasound on June 27th to confirm the pregnancy and give us a rough idea on litter size.  For now Gusty will maintain her current diet and activity levels to help keep her fit and healthy.  It will be a few weeks before the puppies’ growth require us to increase her food.  When her broadening girth makes exercise more difficult, she will still be taking some long swims daily to keep in shape.  In our southern Indiana summers, it’s about all a Flatcoat can do anyways for entertainment!

My first sonogram.  Frankly, I don't see a thing. Where's my lunch?

Hmmm, I seem to be gaining weight.  When's dinner?

Losing my girlish figure.  Can I have a snack now?

An X-ray to see how many little things are taking up all of this room!  Is anyone else feeling peckish?

Now where should I place the nursery?  Good thing Annie is here to help!  We'll both need a snack!  Mom says I'm Super-Sized!
