Wow!  The world is a wonderful place!  We can see and hear and we are so excited!

Our human parents are pleased to announce that we are no longer just eating, pooping, sleeping little bundles but that we have graduated into real puppies.  Now that we can see and hear, we have discovered that each and every one of us as 12 playmates!  We are starting to try out different attack techniques like batting each other with our paws - well, unless we tip over when we lift one leg up which happens quite a bit.  We love the sound of our own voices and use them on a regular and really loud basis.

Our mom, Konza, is apparently getting a little tired of the nursing routine and has hinted that we might want to try something a little different.  Yesterday she went hunting and brought back two dead moles that she dropped in the whelping box with us.  But we're no dummies and we know where the good stuff comes from!  And it's so good that the big boys are around 4 pounds and the littlest ones are up to 1.5 pounds.  Miss Piggy still considers bottle feeding the very best thing around and sucks so hard she still blows milk out of her nose.  Our human parents have stopped our nighttime feedings but we still get a couple turns every day.

Grandma was helping out with babysitting and decided that she might quiet us down if she threw a few toys in with us.  One was a duck and one a big red plush tomato and we thought they were both quite wonderful.  Despite the fact that they were both bigger than any one of us, we attacked with vigor.  No darned tomato is going to scare a tough little Flattie!

We got to go outside yesterday so that we could be introduced to different textured surfaces.  We were on the porch and on the grass for a while.  At first it was just a little bit scary and then we decided it was pretty cool!  We explored a little bit but that is very tiring so we all plopped down and had a nap.  It's going to be fun soon - we can go in 13 different directions at once!

We're growing into our Flatcoat look and now have some feathering on our ears.  We also scratch our ears using our back feet like big dogs but sometimes we sort of all over in a heap when we try it - it's  not as easy as it looks!

Uncle Fraser came to visit and he isn't any more fond of us than he was the first time.  We can't figure out why he ran backwards when we yelped at him! After all, we're a lot littler - but there is a lot more of us.

A professional photographer is going to visit us twice within the next few weeks.  We may be calendar puppies!

Many thanks to "Aunt" Marilyn Brandsasse, our faithful photographer (and now videographer) for presenting to you:
